And death shall have
no dominion – Dylan Thomas 1914-1953
And death shall have no dominion
Dead men naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon
When their bones are picked clean and the clean
bones gone
They shall have stars at elbow and foot
Though they go mad they shall be sane
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise
again
Though lovers be lost love shall not
And death will have no dominion
And death shall have no dominion
Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily
Twisting on racks when sinews give way
Strapped to a wheel yet they shall not break
Faith in their hands shall snap in two
And the unicorn evils run them through
Split all ends they shan’t crack
And death shall have no dominion
And death shall have no dominion
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain
Though they be mad and dead as nails
Heads of the characters hammer through the daisies
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down
And death shall have no dominion
This poem reminds me of the euphoria and prophetic
episode I felt as I became concerned about the
destruction of the beautiful places in Africa
I have visited and the state of the meltdown
of the climate, the struggle with myself to do
more and to accept those people who make my life
difficult.
I wrote poems about unicorns, the holy sea, beat
me boy, bravehearts the year of release, thirst,
Guantanamo & the green mile, star child,
humble be, for the love of Israel and the fight
of the year.
I think of all the trials of life my poem about
overcoming death through the dream beyond compliments

| Tough Love and Strong Wills |
| I am strong
I am stubborn
Life is all.
Let death fall.
I will fight for breath
You will not see my death
You are obliged to me
I am a winner
And as a sinner
Fear not tough lover,
My sister mother,
I am your brother
It simply covers,
Fear not for others,
Maybe we’ll suffer,
We’ll hug each other,
Our Love’s forever
|
I will not give in
death will not win
No matter how weak I become
I will not be overcome
I will struggle on
I do not see beyond
I wish to see life cry for
me
I will not let go of whats mine
I fear what is on
the other side
Its through release we shine
Forgive yourself this
time
Death is an overated sign
A paradise both sweet
and fine
Our family holds together
as a pride
but only for a temporary
time
your grace it comforts
us aside
Good memories we share
in everlasting climes |
Your futures bright,
Our task to fight,
To do whats right,
But if you died tonight,
Your inner might,
Released your light,
This steps no fright,
So if you died tonight
You think me tight,
Your breath is slight,
A garden of delight,
You will not die tonight,
Your spirits flight,
And in dawns light,
|
I know this to be true
to create a good life and a clue
and help make the world anew
I would not weep for you
see how it lights those which surround you
see what your strength in us could do
your golden light within us honours you
your love
would comfort those around you
yet you
hold onto a wornout frame of you
so let a dream
breathe in and out of you
a vision shared as we believe in you
just dream of your body in renewal
on angels wings we follow you
beside your bed I’ll sit and comfort you |
| Death and passion are connected
here is another |
I am like a lion, a
soft and gentle cat am I
But I have claws and I can roar
And in my power you’ll do or die
Let me love you like the sun and rain
Join sweetly with me in my craft
Tightly hold to your bedframe
As you would do a raft
Like the dog chases the cat
I’ll have you
Like a horse upon my dolphin back I’ll carry
you
Earthly messiah in light I’ll hold you
In a journey to the sun I’ll fire you
Like a hammer on the anvil forge you
Banging burning so refine you
Through the sun we’ll go and out the other
side
Through murder death and grace Ill take you
A tidal wave will engulf you,
In a water waste Ill drown you
A queen of sun and light I’ll crown you
A dark velvet cushion & stars surround you
In this void I’ll comfort and guide you
Hold your sweet hand and lie beside you
Let you sleep and dream safely
Sweet nothings you remain in me
