This
world is not conclusion
A species stands beyond
Invisible as music
But positive as sound
It beckons and it baffles
Philosophy don’t know
And through a riddle at the last
Sagacity must go
To guess it puzzles scholars
To gain it men have borne
Contempt of generations
And crucifixion shown
Faith slips and laughs and rallies
Blushes if any see
Plucks at a twig of evidence
And asks a vane the way
Much gesture from the pulpit
Strong hallelujahs roll
Narcotics cannot still the tooth
That nibbles at the soul
This is a wonderful poem and came to me while
considering the God delusion and some articles
I read about the subject in resurgence and responses
in letters. I purchased the book recently and
reading the first few pages (much quoting of
the great scholar Einstein) I notice that the
God in the delusion is not the all encompassing
everything like energy etc but the smaller God
that most religions worship (in the authors mind).
In my mind God is hope, God is the reason I smile
when feeling down, the reason I keep trying,
the sign of the dawn, the smell of a beautiful
person, the eyes of a child, the future of mankind,
balance with nature and the release of death
as REM and many scientists would say the Great
Beyond. I guess this is the God of spirit and
not of religion and so I agree with Dawkins’s
delusion, God can be a delusion and in this world
of great delusions this small God is certainly
false. In the hope of a reconciliation between
all faiths whether religious, spiritual and scientific
I propose the following poems:
(Note the faith in science is that it can cure
all societies ills and in that it is just like
religion).

| You
may take our words
You may steal our dreams
You may live a life absurd
And break our world at the seams
But you cannot take our power
For we are flowers
The power of three we should know what this
means to me.
A celtic mystic and faithful son and scientist
live in me.
Know our shared deity
Father, Son and Holy Ghost is one toast
Mind, body and spirit is another
E equals MC squared for the scientific Host.
Those shining eyes and enquiring minds!
I will shine for you
I will follow the divine for you
My unborn and my younger generation
Watch my every growing incantation
The world will be released
All life will live in peace
And from a corporate slavery
A life of giving bravely
The heart it holds a hopeful seed
Which grows in soil of duty
Its watered by our love and need
And creates a flower called beauty
Its leaves are made of reverence
Of life and truth and peace
A stem of golden promises
Its flower is love released
A fragrance of our sheer delight
Abounds around its airs
It demonstrates our futures bright
Its colours full of cares
This hopeful heart it flowers well
Till upon one shining day
A bumbling bee does find its smell
And comes a visit to pay
And from this union comes a fruit
A beautiful bounty joy
And little hopes are born anew
Seeds for new girls and boys
(Note the bumbling bee is a man seeking truth
refusing to see GOD but relying on Gods providence
born from all those good works to help make his
honey). To a bee maybe there are only flowers
maybe these are his view of GOD to be exploited
and to hold bees to a singular vision.

| Loves heart is true
to me and you |
Thank you for your
love
Your touched my inner being
You made my heart come back to life
You made my life have meaning
Breathe in the joy, and hope of life
Breathe out the loss of fear
A beating heart is joy with strife
My love is now so near
She lives within your eyes
And in all living things
You’ll find her in the open sky
And songs her beauty brings
Sadly the Richard Dawkins official website looks
almost like a religious sales business. I guess
atheism is a religion too, the anti religion
religion. I guess Richard Dawkins works to dispel
ignorance and that is a good thing and this great
beyond still beckons him on.
