Born to Cry
Our first breath a cry
Our first sign a tear
Our first step a stumble
& our first thoughts are frightened fear
And if we live true lives
Our last breath a sigh
Our last sign a star
Our last step is graceful
& our last thoughts enlightened clear

This is a personal website for Jon Proctor an environmentalist living in the UK.

I am the managing director of SEA Ltd a small environmental consultancy based in the UK.
Also I am the technical director for green business a small team of environmental auditors specialising in sustainable tourism.
This site was set up following some traumatic episodes in my life where I came to be very anxious regarding climate change and signs of ecological collapse which is occurring on our planet. It was during this period in which I became overwhelmed with a poetic spirit and felt the need to release a lot of poetry.

This site represents a sample of this work.

I work in sustainable tourism because I believe it is through the choices we make for our holidays are a gauge of our wishes for our future and the kind of lifestyle we aspire to. We have green businesses of all types and quality and it is a universal theme that customers are positive about making steps to be more sustainable. I think sustainability must agree with providing all the worlds inhabitants with access to food shelter and the essential things in life together with choices which allow individuals to better themselves. Society needs to reward sustainable choices more. We need to protect biodiversity, maintain stocks of renewable resources (fish, timber etc), minimise our exploitation of non renewable resources (minerals, oil etc) and leave a richer more diverse and tolerant planet for the next generation. We must reduce corruption and other social ills and encourage efficiency, entrepeneurship and cultural diversity.

My first Jobs

This page is the first page of the story of Jon Proctor green tourism director and a (hopefully) tireless campaigner for a more sustainable future. These next few years since 2010 -2015 will be make or break for the whole planet and our lifestyles. The remaining forests must be protected at all costs, from 2011 the UN year of the forest we will find ways to prevent markets destroying our forests. Our green business accreditation will grow into new areas and we will bring more sustainable principles and practices to the supply chain. New products will be developed which relate to financial investments the great drivers of human society. No organisation will be able to say with one hand they protect the environment whilst destroying it secretly with the other. Black flags will fly on products and services which undermine the efforts towards a sustainable future and green certification will grow from strength to strength. We will play our part and attempt to harness the goodwill of our members and use our unique position with consumers to bring forth real change.

This is the beginning of the transformation of human society a peaceful positive revolution and this time represents the turning of the tide. A time when small pebbles start an avalanche and individuals working for the common good realise they have tremendous power. I wrote a poem about the years of release. These are the years where we begin to change society from the shackles it has inherited from the past. The flowering of the deserts of the Middle East are part of this great release from Tunisia to Egypt and from Lybia to Bahrain.

The Year of release 2

I am a servant of the secret fire all women hold within their minds
I am a servant of the heart which shines
I am the servant of all men who hold the sword of truth with peace to find
I am the servant of all creation, to bring heaven on earth and one living nation
Calling Earth
